The Dallas based band Pecan Tree asked me to design a poster for a concert they were performing during the local Spring Art event that happens across the city. Normally their posters and collateral have a literal Pecan Tree reference, so I wanted to do something a little bit different that spoke to where they’re from. By combining local icons in this image I re-imagined the caduceus – known as the staff of Hermes. The wings from the Mobil Oil Pegasus were placed onto Reunion Tower that has a Rattlesnake coiled around it. The night sky was created by referencing star charts filtered by date and location in order to replicate the position of the stars as they would be seen by an attendee on the evening of the show.
